I'd like to welcome you to Hillview Middle School. As principal, I could not be more proud of the school over which I preside, and am honored to have the opportunity to share the outstanding instruction being received at one of the best middle schools in the Antelope Valley. The purpose of this report card is to afford you the opportunity to review the quality educational program Hillview offers.
It is the belief of Hillview Middle School that students can and will excel in an environment that is tailored to their academic needs. It is due to this belief, that we have been able to successfully develop a comprehensive educational school that celebrates and promotes ethnic and cultural diversity, individuality, and emotional, intellectual, and social eminence.
Hillview Middle School is one of three middle schools in the Westside Union School District. The school which was built in 1993 serves 1025 seventh and eighth grade students from the surrounding communities of West Palmdale and West Lancaster. Hillview offers a strong core curriculum in language arts, math, science, social studies and physical education. With the school being networked and every classroom connected to the Internet, a high emphasis is placed on an elective program, which provides for every student to become skilled in the use of technology in computers and industrial technology. Students also have the opportunity to participate in band, art, industrial arts (wood shop), and home economics as part of their elective choices. Numerous clubs, academic teams, and interscholastic sports provide opportunities for student to participate and interact with each other outside of the school day.
Thank you for assisting Hillview Middle School in making our students' experiences here not only a memorable one, but also enjoyable.
