Good Afternoon Anaverde Families,
Just two quick reminders from the PTSA. Join us at the Habit and Yogurtland tonight in Palmdale from 4-10 pm for Eat for Anaverde. Also spirit wear order forms are due by August 19th. This will be the only order for this school year.
A transcript of this message is posted on the school website.
Have a great week and go Vipers!
Happy Friday Viper Parents!
A few updates for this week.
Please remember that Monday August 26th is a minimum day and school will be dismissing at 12:55 pm.
Also, as you are joining us on campus to pick up your students please remember a few tips to help us out in the parking lot. Remember that there is no parking and getting out of vehicles in the valet line. If you are going to pick up your child at the gate please use a designated parking spot. Also please remember that there is no double parking. Again, please use a designated parking spot. Parking spots for people with disabilities are reserved for those with appropriate placards. Please make sure if you are parked there that your placard is displayed. Finally, please remember to use the crosswalk to help us ensure that all members of our school community are safe.
Finally, be sure to tune in to our weekly read-aloud series that is posted on our website!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend! Go Vipers!!!
Good Afternoon Viper Families!
We hope that you are all having a fantastic week! Today we were lucky to have the AVC football players visit our campus to celebrate this Saturday’s AVC Touchdown Club Event! Bags for the touchdown club are for sale for $10 and include admission to this Saturday’s touchdown club celebration including a tailgate party and entrance to the football game. In addition, students receive admission to all the remaining AVC home football games! Money raised from this event goes to support WAVE, which is a non-profit organization that gives grant money to Westside Schools for a variety of activities. Our goal is to sell 50 bags! A tour of AVC will also be taking place on Saturday at 3:30, just before the tailgate celebration. If your child is interested in taking the tour, please contact Ms. B our school counselor.
Have a great evening! Go Vipers!
Buenas tardes familias Viper!
B, nuestra consejera escolar.
¡Que tengas una buena tarde! Go Vipers!
Hi Viper families-
This is our last week to raise money for the 4th annual PTSA Viper Run. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to help cover costs of PTSA programs including but not limited to field trips and assemblies. If each student is able to raise just $25 we would meet this goal. Information with how to donate as well as race incentives went home on a flyer last week and is posted in the PTSA facebook group. Families are welcome to cheer on their Vipers this Friday October 4th. Grade level runs are divided as follows: middle school 12:20-12:40, TK/K/1st 12:45-1:05, 2nd/3rd 1:10-1:30, and 4th/5th/6th 1:35-1:55.
Also, a PTSA waiver form was sent home with students last week. This must be returned with a signature in order for students to participate in any PTSA sponsored event!
Finally, please remember that Monday and Tuesday October 7th and 8th are non-student days for parent teacher conferences!
Thank you for all your support. Go Vipers!!!
Hola familias Viper
Go Vipers !!!

Thank you and have a nice evening.
Good Afternoon Viper Families,
Thank you so much for all of your help and support during these uncertain times. We appreciate it. To help keep our students academically engaged this week, we will be posting units of study by grade level on the district and school website beginning tomorrow. Each unit will contain directions, links, and learning activities for students to complete this week. If you requested independent study for this week, March 16-20th, and did not receive an independent study packet prior to the end of the day on Friday please complete these posted assignments. If you have any questions please feel free to email Dr. Rossall-Bennett or Mr. Weber. Both of our email addresses can be located on the school website. Thank you so much to our PTSA who has been in contact with us and helping to keep everyone up to date and provide additional learning resources as well. We continue to appreciate their partnership and support. Again, please be sure to check back to our district website for updated information. Also, don't forget that breakfast and lunch are being served in a "grab and go" style at Anaverde Hills from 11-12 Monday-Friday until March 20th.
To all of our students, we hope that you are finding ways to keep learning and spend time with your family. We hope to see you back on campus soon.
Thank you and have a great evening!
Good Afternoon Anaverde Hills and Leona Valley Families,
We hope that you are all safe and healthy! We wanted to provide an update on distance learning which is set to start next week, April 6th. You will be hearing from your students’ teacher on Monday with additional information about how they will be conducting distance learning. In addition, we will be handing out items including devices and materials from student’s desk next week. A schedule will be sent out no later than Monday. Devices will be given in a proportion of 1 device for every three students in the household. So for example, if you have 5 students you will receive 2 devices, checked out to the oldest students in the family. We are working to get devices out as quickly as possible, beginning with those who completed the survey sent out by the Westside Union School District. Please do not come to campus to get materials until the scheduled time. Teachers will be reaching out to you on Monday. Please know that they may call from a blocked number. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to get all the devices and materials out to students. If you have further questions, please reach out to us and continue to check the district website and blog for the latest information. We hope you have a nice evening.
Good Afternoon Parents!
As we call this evening, we hope that you are all safe and well. We hope that your students have a successful first day of distance learning. Tomorrow we will begin our device and materials distribution. Devices will be delivered in phases based on when the technology survey was completed. We appreciate your continued support and patience as we work to get all the devices out. Attached to this dialer is the schedule for materials distribution. There is a specific time set aside for families with multiple students at our school. Please read the schedule carefully and reach out if you have any questions. The schedule will also be posted on the school website, sent out via Class Dojo and Remind, and posted on our PTA Facebook pages. As you come to site to pick up materials, please have a piece of paper with your student’s last name clearly written on it placed in your windshield. Our staff will then bring to the car your students belonging, a device if they are getting one in the first phase, and a band instrument if they have one as well. Please do not park and get out of your vehicle. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. Dr. Rossall can be reached at email@example.com.
Thank you and have a safe evening.

Good Evening Viper Families,
This is Dr. Rossall with a quick update about materials distribution. First of all, we want to thank all of you for being so patient and flexible in helping us to get out the materials and devices to your students. We appreciate your support. We will do one more session of material pick up tomorrow from 8-11 a.m. for anyone who hasn’t picked up student belongings. 8-11 a.m. is just for picking up student belongings. If a Chromebook in Wave 2 has been checked out to you, you will receive a personal phone call from one of our amazing office staff, not a dialer, letting you know that it is ready to be picked up. There will also be a Wave 3, so if you asked for a device and have not received one or received a call yet, I assure you we are working on getting those devices ready for you and will distribute them as soon as possible. As a reminder, we are checking devices out in a 1 device to every 3 students per household ratio. Not every student will get an individual device. Information on our system to collect devices back at the end of the school year will be sent out at a later date.
As always we hope that you are all safe and healthy. Please share with us your pictures of students participating in distance learning. We would love to share them on our PTA and district Facebook page. We would love to see how students are doing.
Thank you and have a great evening!
Good Afternoon Anaverde Families!
We have a couple of exciting announcements!
First of all, our staff and teachers will be hosting a car parade next week on May 14th at 10 am. We are so thankful to our district, the city of Palmdale, and Palmdale Sherriff station for helping us to coordinate this event. Attached to this dialer via email is a map of our route. We are excited for this opportunity.
Yearbooks are still available for order online. The cost is $25 per yearbook. Attached to this dialer is a link for those interested in ordering a yearbook. The deadline to order is May 25th. The website to order is: ybpay.lifetouch.com and our school code is:11893120
Finally, for our 8th grade families we are planning a way to celebrate our promoting 8th graders. As more information is available it will be sent out.
Good Afternoon 8th Grade Families!
We hope you are all safe and healthy! We have been working hard to find a way to honor your students during this time. While we know that this is not the 8th grade promotion we had all been looking forward to, we still want to take time to honor the students, families, and this milestone as they look forward to high school. Here are some highlights for what we will be doing to recognize students’ hard work and accomplishments.
We have ordered lawn signs and received permission from the HOA to display them from May 29th-June 5th. We will send a dialer when these signs are delivered to site and at this time you will be given a time slot to drive up and pick one up.
In addition, we will be doing a promotion video which includes speeches and recognizes students. We would like to include each students’ name, however in order to do this we need parent permission. Please fill out the attached google form no later than Friday May 22nd, 2020.
Students will still be receiving their diplomas and awards. A time will be given to you by last name to drive up and pick up these items on June 3rd. This is not a drive up graduation celebration, but instead is just an opportunity to pick up materials. Please be looking for an additional dialer with this information.
All 8th grade devices, books, library books, musical instruments, and any sports jerseys must be returned to school on June 1st. Boxes will be set out to collect these items.
Finally, we would like to give you an opportunity to share a shout out to your 8th grader. Below is a link to a form if you wish to publish a shout out on the school website.
This form must be completed by a parent or guardian if you wish to have a social media "shout-out" for your promoting 8th grader. Names and email addresses will be checked against parent/guardian listed in Powerschool. This restriction is for our students' safety and privacy. Files (photos) can only be uploaded if you are logged into a Gmail or google organization account. If you do not have a compatible account, you can email photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. The student's first and last name must be in the subject line and the remainder of the form must be completed. Please allow up to 72 hours for your shout-out to appear, as data must be checked with the school office.
We hope that these will serve as small mementos and celebrations of this amazing milestone for you and your student! It has been our pleasure to work with you and your student! We will miss you all next year and wish each of you well in the future! Our high schools are getting an amazing group of freshmen!
Good Morning Bobcat and Viper Families!
We hope that this message finds you all safe and healthy. It is hard to believe that we are already approaching the end of the 2019-2020 school year. While we know that this year has provided many challenges, we also hope it has provided some wonderful memories for you and your students.
On both the district’s and school website, a survey has been posted so that we have your input about the opening of the 20-21 school year. Please go to one of the websites, review the information and complete the survey. The survey is available from today-Saturday, May 23rd. Thanks so much for taking the time to provide this valued input.
We hope that you have a great day and a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
It is hard to believe that the 2019-2020 school year is already coming to a close. We have enjoyed getting to work with you and your students this year. We have appreciated how our community has come together to again navigate new uncharted waters during the quarter. We know that Anaverde is strong because of our great community.
We also want to thank our amazing staff and PTSA for all of their hard work over the last few months in providing learning and spirited activities for our students during distance learning. Thank you all for your dedication.
Materials will be collected on 6/2 from 7-9 am. This includes library books, textbooks, sports uniforms, lunch balances, and band instruments. At this time we will not be collecting Chromebooks from our students in grades TK-7. We ask you to please hold on and take good care of these devices over the summer. Remember you can continue to access iXL as part of our school license over the summer.
If your child will not be attending Anaverde Hills next school year, please return any school devices on June 2nd from 7-9 am.
Report cards and awards will be mailed home to students no later than June 15th.
Finally, we hope that you all have a wonderful and relaxing summer! Please continue to check the district website and listen for dialers for more updates on plans for the start of next school year on August 5th.
Thank you for all you do for you students! Anaverde Hills is lucky to have you!
Good Afternoon Anaverde Families!
Just two quick updates as we begin summer break. Report cards and awards can be picked up today, Wednesday, June 10th from 7:30-9:00 am. Please drive up and we will hand you the items through the car window.
Also, due to Covid 19 CDC requirements the yearbook processing has been delayed. Yearbooks should arrive at the end of July. You will be notified of distribution once we receive them.
Have a happy and safe summer break!
WELCOME BACK, VIPERS!
Welcome back to another amazing school year!
We hope that you all had a restful and safe summer! We are excited to welcome you back on Monday August 10th.
This school year promises to be one we will never forget. Earlier this summer you were asked to identify whether you wanted your child to participate in a “Distance Learning” program or “In Person/Hybrid” model of instruction. As you are most likely aware, Governor Newsom recently mandated that schools within a county on the “watch” list are required to open school in Distance Learning until they are off the "watch" list for 14 consecutive days. Therefore students who signed up for the "hybrid" learning option will be opening the school year in distance learning from home as well.
Students assigned to our formerly hybrid model will receive daily instruction through their Google Classroom or Seesaw during the hours of 7:45 am and 1:55 pm as if they were in school. We anticipate this model will be vastly different than the remote learning model we participated in the spring of 2020. Essentially, your child will receive daily instruction and interaction from their teacher following a normal school schedule. This serves two purposes:
1) your child will receive rigorous, standards-based instruction, in all subjects from their assigned teacher
2) when we have the opportunity to return to school, your child will be able to seamlessly transition into an “in-person/hybrid” model of instruction
The most important thing to remember during this time is that your child is expected to log-in and participate in school between 7:45 am - 1:55 pm each day, as if we were in school. Students not logging in and participating will not receive attendance credit for the day. A detailed schedule for each classroom will be posted on our school website and shared with you during back to school night. Please consider printing this schedule and reviewing the expectations with your child as soon as possible, and don’t forget… school starts on Monday, August 10th at 7:45 am.
Students participating in the full year distance learning model or the virtual assist model will receive their instruction through an Anaverde teacher or a Westside School District assigned to the yearlong distance learning program. Each student in this model will remain an Anaverde Hills student, but will not be required to attend school in person when school resumes during this school year. Additionally, students participating in this model of instruction may follow a more flexible schedule based on their individual teacher's schedule and expectations.
We will be hosting our virtual back to school night on August 7th. A Zoom link will be sent out in a follow up school dialer. This will allow you to have an opportunity to get some information from our administration as well as from your student’s classroom teacher.
Also, student classroom assignments will be posted on PowerSchool. A dialer will be sent when they are live.
Also coming up this week, we will be distributing Chromebooks and textbook materials this week. This will be done in a drive through format. Times will be assigned by grade level with a special time for those families with multiple students. You will simply pull into the valet, tell us your student’s name, and we will have you their bag of materials. We have also added a short Saturday window for those families needing that time as well. Pick up times are as follows:
8-11 am--6th grade
11:30-2:00--1st grade and 5th grade
8-11 am--2nd grade and 4th grade
8-1 pm: siblings
11:30-2:00: Middle School and Kindergarten
8-10 am--Saturday Pick Up
School lunch will continue to be available for students through a grab and go distribution from 11 am-12 pm daily. One change to note is that for those students who qualify for free and reduced lunch, this meal will continue to be provided at no cost. However, due to changes in the legislation those students who do not qualify for free and reduced lunch may still get a meal for a normal lunch fee. Please remember that applications for free and reduced lunch must be completed at the start of each school year even if they were completed the year prior. This application can be accessed through the Child Nutrition tab on the district website at www.westside.k12.ca.us
As always, please feel free to reach out if you have questions. We look forward to working with you all and to another great year at Anaverde Hills!
¡Bienvenidos a otro increíble año escolar!
11: 30-2: 00-- 1er grado y 5to grado
6 de agosto
8-11 am - 2do grado y 4to grado
11: 30-2: 00-- 3er grado
7 de agosto
8-1 pm: Hermanos/as
11: 30-2: 00: Secundaria y Kinder

Thank you and have a great evening!
Hello Anaverde Families,
We hope that you have had a great first week and that you and your students are starting to settle into a routine.
A quick word about attendance:
If your child is in the hybrid model, in order to be marked present for the day, your student should be logged on to all the live sessions for the day, present, and participating in the class. They should also be completing all the work that is being assigned. This is to ensure that your student is actively participating and receiving the instruction for the day. If your student is not on the morning live session, they will be marked absent. Just like when we are present on campus, if your student is sick or tardy, you can clear the absence through our attendance line by dialing 974-8524 or by emailing email@example.com .
Thank you and have a great weekend!
