Does my student qualify for Westside Pathfinders?
Westside Pathfinders is available to all K-8 students in the Westside Union School District.
How can I enroll my student(s) in Westside Pathfinders?
Parents can enroll their student(s) through the Boys & Girls Club of the Antelope Valley registration link. The Boys & Girls Club of the Antelope Valley currently provides our programming at Westside Pathfinders and is responsible for processing enrollment into the program. You will need your student’s SSID, which can be found through PowerSchool, to enroll.
What are the hours for the Westside Pathfinders program?
Westside Pathfinders currently runs Monday-Friday, beginning after school until 5:30 pm. Early Risers program hours, before the start of the school day (6:45am-7:15am), are slated to be added later in the school year. Please contact your student’s school site for more information about Early Risers. Westside Pathfinders also offer 9-hour Enrichment Camps during Winter intersession (5 days), Spring Intersession (10 days) and Summer (15 days).
How long will it take for my student(s) to be accepted into Westside Pathfinders?
After school care is provided by AVBGC. Open enrollment for AVBGC begins on July 1st and closes on July 31st of each school year. Any student registration after July 31st will be put on a waiting list. There is currently a waitlist for the 2024-2025 school year. Space is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Admittance dates may vary. We will do our best to enroll your student(s) as soon as possible.
Does my child have to attend Westside Pathfinders from 2-5:30 pm every day?
Westside Pathfinders is designed to meet the needs of your family. While we always encourage full participation, we do understand that families’ schedules vary. You are welcome to pick up your student at any time that works best for your family.
Where is the Westside Pathfinders program held?
All Westside Pathfinders programs are held onsite at your student’s school. Program attendance and check-in is primarily held in the cafeteria but may vary site to site.
Intersession & summer program sites vary. Transportation will be available to students if the program is not being held at the school of residence.
Are supplies and snacks provided?
Supplies and snacks are provided for the after-school program, but parents are welcome to pack extra snacks and water. The district provides students with a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack during the 9-hour non-school days.
