Quartz Hill Elementary utilizes Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a STEM curriculum, in our classrooms. PLTW is aligned to the newly adopted Next Generation Science Standards. When engaged in the modules of PLTW students can be using VEX robotics to solve real-world problems, conducting experiments, or studying the effects of collision. In addition to PLTW, Quartz Hill has a robotics team that competes in local competition. The robotics team is comprised of fifth and sixth grade students and meets after school.

VEX Robotics Competition

Quartz Hill Elementary offers a VEX robotics team for students in fifth and sixth grades. Students are asked to tryout for the team. The robotics team meets after school, and competes against other local robotic teams in the valley. This is a great way for our students to develop introductory robotic skills prior to matriculating to middle school.
