Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Westside Union School District. All volunteers must sign-in and sign-out in the volunteer register located at the front desk and must wear a volunteer identification badge provided at all times so that the staff and students can identify you as a volunteer.

TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire

A TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire (RAQ) will be completed at the time of fingerprinting.

Fingerprinting

Any volunteer that will be with students unsupervised by a district employee or chaperoning a field trip must be fingerprinted.Volunteers can call the District at 661-722-0716 to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting. The fee charged by the Department of Justice for fingerprinting is $32.00, which must be paid at the time of fingerprinting. Volunteering carries with it the responsibility of being loyal to the school site. Confidentiality is a must. All information you hear or read is confidential. Do not share this information with others.

An injury or accident that occurs while on campus must be promptly reported to the Administrative office. Volunteers assisting in a classroom, please allow teachers to instruct you in what needs to be done. Discipline is solely the responsibility of the Site staff. If you encounter a problem with a student or see a conflict, contact a staff member to deal with the situation.
